Welcome New Trustees!

In fall 2014, Brimmer and May welcomed two new members to its Board of Trustees.

As parents actively engaged in the Lower School, avid believers in STEAM education, and possessing significant business leadership skills, they are both excited to take on this most challenging volunteer role for Brimmer and May!

Gajen Kandiah, P '23

Gajen and his wife Lisanne are the proud parents of current 4th grader Grace Kandiah. Gajen and Lisanne were first drawn to the global and creative focus of Brimmer and May for their then-first grade daughter and have been very involved in the life of the School ever since. They are both Annual Fund volunteers who participated in the strategic planning process in 2013. Gajen has also consulted extensively with Head of School Judy Guild and the STEAM faculty on Maker Labs and hands-on learning through the community outreach department at Cognizant Technology, where he works.

Gajen is the EVP and Global Managing Director of Cognizant Technology's Business Process Services unit. Previously, Gajen successfully managed and grew multiple lines of business and new revenue streams for such areas as Cognizant's Information, Media and Entertainment; Manufacturing Logistics; Consumer Goods; and Communications business units. Gajen also led Cognizant's Advanced Solutions Group, Global Technology Office, and Quality Engineering and Assurance business units.

Gajen has always been an entrepreneur and business leader. He co-founded NerveWire Inc., a management consulting and systems integration firm. As COO, Gajen was responsible for revenue growth to $50 million. Gajen also previously served as VP of Internet Services at Cambridge Technology Partners.

Gajen completed his higher education at the Royal College in Sri Lanka and attended executive education programs in Engineering at Northeastern University and Leadership at Harvard Business School.

The Board is eager to tap into Gajen's extensive business and technology expertise and his keen interest in STEAM, global, and creative educational programming as we move forward with year two of The Strategic Priorities for 2013 and Beyond.
