Fall M.S. Outdoor Education

Brimmer and May Middle School’s Fall Outdoor Education Day took place in October. It was a wonderful class trip to solidify friendships, take in spectacular views, and enjoy the crisp autumn air in the great outdoors.

The 6th grade class hiked up Mt. Watatic. At 1,832 feet tall and made from 400 million-year old metamorphic rock, this little peak offers great views of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Our trip took us up and down a gentle trail on a short day hike.

The 7th grade class celebrated autumn in New England with a beautiful bike ride on the historic Minuteman Bikeway. The paved bike path runs along an old railroad line that was converted to a multi-use trail that extends 11 miles from Arlington to Bedford. Our trip began in Bedford, and we and headed south along the path to Arlington’s Great Meadows.

The 8th grade class paddling adventure began at Charles River Canoe and Kayak on Soldiers Field Road. The class and chaperones were outfitted with canoes, paddles, and flotation devices before they headed downstream towards Boston on the famous Charles River. We took in the fall colors along the river and enjoyed a beautiful view of the city.
