Congrats to our AP Scholars!

Seventeen students earned the designation of AP® Scholar at several levels through their academic achievement in Advanced Placement® courses during the 22-23 school year. Seven students were named AP Scholar, seven more were named AP Scholar with Honor, and three were designated AP Scholar with Distinction.

 

According to the College Board, AP Scholar designation is “[g]ranted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.” Brimmer students who earned this recognition include the following:

According to the College Board®, AP Scholar with Honor designation is “[g]ranted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.” Brimmer students who earned this recognition include the following:

According to the College Board®, AP Scholar with Distinction is “[g]ranted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.” Brimmer students who earned this recognition include the following:

Haoran (James) Yu, ‘24

 

Brian Gamble, ’23 and Nico Jaffer, ’23 earned initial AP Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinction designations, respectively, in Grade 11, while James Yu, ’24, newly enrolled at the school in 2022-2023, earned AP Scholar with Distinction recognition through his achievements on AP Exams that included both courses completed at Brimmer and May and study of additional AP curriculum outside of school during the past year.

 

AP® courses offer high school students college-level curriculum. Scores of 3, 4, or 5 on AP Exams may earn a student advanced placement in college courses or credit toward completion of an undergraduate degree.
