Middle & Upper School Tour

Join Brimmer alum Sarah Smith '17 as she walks us through campus, including Thompson Gymnasium, Hastings Center, Dining Commons, Innovation Space, Makerspace, STEAM classroom, Digital Media Center, Ruth Corkin Theatre, Pappas Computer Lab, Reensteirna Library Learning Commons, Almy Wing, and the Art Barn.

Hastings Center

Our Hastings Center (and adjacent Chase Building and Almy Wing) opens limitless possibilities for our students. It's the perfect place to enhance individual and collaborative learning experiences and to launch the development of new courses and interdisciplinary explorations. See for yourself by taking a virtual tour on your own (right) or enjoy a Middle School focused guided tour or Upper School focused guided tour both from Karly Hamilton '21.

Art Barn

With two visual art studios and a ceramics studio, our Robert Lloyd Corkin Visual Arts Center (Art Barn for short) gives our students the opportunity to work in a range of media, pursue advanced classes, and learn from guest artists leading master classes in specific techniques. See why the Art Barn fuels creativity by taking our virtual tour.

McCoy Hall Tour

A former residence, our Lower School is child-friendly in size, scale, and sensibility. It’s a warm, welcoming environment in which children’s innate curiosity leads them to discover the joys of learning with purpose. McCoy Hall houses our PK-Grade 3 classrooms, our Lower School Library, Design Lab, French Library, and art room. Our new outdoor playground is directly behind McCoy!

Outdoor Garden

Directly behind historic Cummings Hall, home to Grades 4 & 5 students, is our beautiful organic garden, a special hands-on learning environment. All students and teachers play a role in its annual success. Outdoor activities include planting and tending vegetables and flowers, tilling soil, weeding, watering, pruning, and harvesting. This outdoor classroom is where our students study ecology, learn about growth cycles, and connect with nature.

Lower School Playground

The Mugar Family Playground and Outdoor Learning Space makes the best use of the land and incorporates a water element, apple trees, an outdoor amphitheater, raised garden beds, a play structure, a mound for sliding and running, a tricycle track, and an athletic play area. It is designed intentionally to take advantage of outdoor space for recreation as well as an extension for learning.
