The Impact of Global Studies at Brimmer

Judith Guild, Head of School
At a recent Middle and Upper School assembly, Brimmer graduates participated in a panel discussion on the impact our Global Studies curriculum and programming had on their college and career choices.

Our School’s mission for all students in grades PreK-12 includes a commitment to educating our students to be “informed, engaged, and ethical citizens and leaders in our diverse world.” To accomplish this, we design our curriculum with this goal in mind. The assembly alumni panelists shared how Brimmer educated them to appreciate and understand cultures, develop respect for the beliefs and traditions of others, learn to advocate for themselves and have agency, think critically about complex topics, and use an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving. Each presenter demonstrated open-mindedness, a willingness to pivot and pursue new ideas, a commitment to making a difference in the life of others, and being grounded in the importance of valuing and protecting our resources. They spoke about how their Brimmer education influenced and prepared them for the complexities we face in our world today.

Brimmer has a strong and committed alumni population who are eager to support our students and programs. The event was live streamed if you wish to view it!
As an inclusive private school community, Brimmer welcomes students who will increase the diversity of our school.
